CAA East Campus – History

History

Crawford Adventist Academy – East Campus opened on September 4, 2007, at Agape Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a mission to advance Adventist Christian education in Scarborough, Pickering, and nearby communities. Under the leadership of Ms. Wendy Hutchinson, the school began with three teachers and 26 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. In its early years, the school operated with four classrooms, a principal’s office, and a gymnasium, holding assemblies and worship in the church sanctuary. By its third year, enrollment grew to 42 students, with French and music added to enhance academic and spiritual development.
In August 2014, CAA East moved to its permanent location at 1765 Meadowview Avenue, Pickering. The modern facility features 14 classrooms, a gymnasium, computer lab, kitchen, and administrative offices, with room for future expansion. The Grand Opening Ceremony took place on October 19, 2014.
In 2022, after 37 years of service at the Main Campus, Mrs. Judy Burgin-Hall became Principal. Today, with 106 students and growing, CAA East continues to provide a Christ-centered education that inspires excellence, character, and faith.
Supported by five full-time teachers, three teaching assistants, and three part-time teachers, CAAE is a vibrant learning community where students are nurtured to grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Through dedicated staff and a caring environment, CAAE remains steadfast in its mission to prepare students for a life of service, leadership, and faith in God.
